Description: Federico Garcia Lorca (1898-1936), Spain's best known poet, lived in Granada, the home of the Alhambra Palace. Lorca championed the art of flamenco in his work, which he described as the hidden life of Andalucia, with gypsies, horses, archangels, Jewish and Roman breezes, rivers and crimes. A passionate social activist, Lorca was murdered by Nationalists at the start of the Spanish civil war. This evening is a celebration of his work in dance, poetry and storytelling, with Amanda Frescura, flamenco, Nicola Grove, storyteller, Frome poets, and members of Frome's Spanish conversation class.
