Description: “Until we understand what the land is, we are at odds with everything we touch.” Wendell Berry An exhibition of new work by Frome based artists Tom Baskeyfield and Lotte Scott, exploring themes of consciousness, deep time and ecology. Through drawings and small sculptural pieces 'All The Way Down' will meditate on the stones, soil and trees of the surrounding Somerset landscape. Tom Baskeyfield is a multidisciplinary visual artist exploring interests in place, ecology, matter, and spirituality. He holds an MA in Art and Environment from Falmouth University. Since 2015 he has been working on 'Shaped by Stone' with photographer Mario Popham, an Arts Council funded project looking at place through the lens of stone. Lotte Scott grew up in Castle Cary and studied at Goldsmiths and the Slade School of Art. For the last seven years her work has been inspired by the landscape and archaeology of the Somerset peat moors. Having exhibited widely since finishing her Masters in 2017, in February Lotte was announced the winner of the 2020 Gilchrist Fisher Award.
