Back by popular demand from Rare Species Theatre Company creators of cult hit “Frome – The Fecund Coming” and “Not on the Buses”.
Join eminent whistorian Virginia Saggers on a silent disco walking tour of Frome. This year we celebrate the rich heritage of the town in touching cloth – a tapestry of stories woven with modern music and dancing.
On the 1st anniversary of her release from a secure unit (where she was detained for attempting to sacrifice her colleague at Boyle’s Cross), Virginia has “modernised” her approach to guided tours of the town and is offering an insight into the popular culture of the 1890s, 1980s and beyond complete with a carefully curated soundtrack delivered direct to your ears via headphones.
Let her take you by the hand (metaphorically) and lead you down the rabbit hole, uncovering some hidden gems and tickling the beige underbelly of the town.
A blend of improvised comedy and stream of consciousness script writing, Rare Species delight and surprise at every turn.
Peppered with humorous observations, cultural references, stories and pop this tour reaches the parts other tours cannot reach.
Contains adult themes and some strong language. Be prepared to surrender yourself fully to Saggers’ whim.
Headphones will be provided at the start of the event and volume can be adjusted to each individual but we recommend listening quite loud to enhance the experience.
“Rare Species are skilled and sharp performers, adept at improvising comedy from any haphazard thing that happens on the way, before returning to the hilarious script. For incessant and imaginative laughs they can’t be beat” John Christopher Wood
“Brilliant immersive street theatre with unforgettable highlights” – Crysse Morrison
