Frome Festival Summer Window Wanderland @FromeTownCouncil @fromewanderland @FromeOpenStudio @FromeTown @FabulousFrome

July 2, 2020 - Martin

Frome Window Wanderland and Frome Festival are working together on a project to celebrate what would have been the Festival’s 20th Birthday, and are inviting the residents of Frome to create window displays in their own homes to join in the celebration.

The Festival would have been happening from Friday 3rd to Sunday 12th July but obviously very sadly had to be cancelled due to Covid19, so we would love people to take part in creating a festival of window displays instead during the whole Summer.

Unlike Window Wanderland, which happens during the winter, the displays don’t have to be illuminated (unless you want to), instead they can be enjoyed by others walking past during the day – and you can get the whole family involved. We want you to take photos and share them too on the Frome Window Wanderland and the Frome Festival Facebook pages.

The theme is Frome Festival and special birthdays and anniversaries, as it would have been our 20th Birthday this year. You could take any aspect of the Festival to inspire you, or what do you look forward to the most? The music, theatre, poetry, Hidden Gardens, the Open Art Trail or maybe the Food Feast? Perhaps there has been a particular event over the years that you would like to use as inspiration. You might prefer to do a window to celebrate the 72nd Anniversary of the NHS, it’s completely up to you.

You could even use a template of the festival logo, by clicking on one of the images below. You could print it out and then colour it in, or you could do a ‘stained glass’ effect by cutting it out of black paper and do coloured tissue behind.

If you need to purchase supplies for your window display, our friends at Postscript are offering 10% off of black card, tissue paper and cellophane. Please mention that the items are for your Festival Window Wanderland window display.

We are hoping for lots of fabulous windows, to create a little Festival atmosphere, and to raise all of our spirits during this challenging time.

Once your window is ready please post it up on Facebook and email details to: We’ll post the list of Window Wanderland Displays on the Festival website, so that as many people as possible can come and admire your display.
