Frome Festival is delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Laughton as the new director of Frome Festival.
Adam will be replacing Martin Dimery who will be stepping down this Summer after 15 years of directing the festival. “I’m delighted the Board of Trustees had so many candidates of real calibre apply for the post,” said Martin. “Adam has a terrific background and I’m sure will be a resounding success.”
Gavin Rea, festival chairman, said: “This is great news. Martin will be leaving us with a fantastic legacy, and we know that Adam is relishing the challenge of steering the festival through its third decade.”
Adam said: “I am delighted to be joining the Frome Festival team as Director. Having spent my life based in Bath, Bristol, and the South-West, I’ve been an admirer of the fantastic arts and cultural activity in and around Frome for a long time and I’m energised to get involved with the festival’s dynamic programme of live events and community activities.”
Alongside his role at Frome Festival, Adam will continue as Creative Producer at Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon, working in concert programming and developing digital projects including concert livestreams and virtual creative activity. He is also involved in a variety of musical ensembles across the region as a conductor, performer, and facilitator.
He will be taking up his new post in October.
