Explore the byways of Frome\, enjoy gardens lovingly prepared by volunteers\, treat yourself to a piece of cake and a cup of tea\, or just wander around and have a chat. Join thousands of visitors discovering beautiful places across the town and talk with knowledgeable gardeners and wildlife enthusiasts. \nThere will be a large range of gardens open\, including several new additions and recent makeovers. Please be aware that some gardens are only open one or two days across the weekend\, as gardeners love to get out and see other gardens. This year\, you can enjoy exploring some gardens on the evening of Friday 10th – discover beautiful spaces when the air is cooler before Frome Festival’s evening events. \nWhen you purchase your tickets either in person or online\, you will receive a programme with a map which will act as your ticket for the gardens. Programmes can be bought on the Frome Festival website or in person at Cheese & Grain\, Hunting Raven\, Ellenbray\, Victoria Park Café\, Discover Frome in Frome Library and the Town Hall. DESCRIPTION:Frome’s finest contemporary musicians join forces with stars from across the South West in a unique musical tribute to the region’s historic residency of former Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I. Laura Jurd\, Will Gregory\, Martin Kolarides and other local luminaries explore Ethio-Jazz\, a unique fusion of the traditions of jazz and African music. \nFrom 1936-1941(43) HIM Emperor Haile Selassie I and the Royal Family lived in exile in Fairfield House\, Bath during Mussolini’s invasion of Ethiopia. After his return to Ethiopia a flourishing jazz scene emerged during the 1960s & 70s\, led by musicians such as Mulatu Astatke\, Hailu Mergia & Walias Band. \nToday Fairfield House\, Bath is a community social enterprise dedicated to preserving and celebrating HIM’s legacy www.fairfieldhousebath.co.uk. When Bath celebrated the 70th anniversary of HIM being awarded the Freedom of the City Fairfield House convened its Ethio-Jazz Project to support those celebrations. \nFairfield Ethio-Jazz Project’s debut album ‘Bath Ketema’ is released in 2026 by Kelston Records & Severn Songs both digitally and on vinyl (also featuring Adrian Utley and Harriet Riley).

DESCRIPTION:Frome’s favourite free event returns to Market Yard with another celebration of amazing street food\, music and entertainment. Sample delicious offerings from around the world and dance to a sensational collection of acts. \nRUBIX GROOVE perform 80s classics that everyone can sing along to! Fresh from their headline slot at Bath’s Party in The City\, expect wigs\, bandanas\, clashing patterns and the ultimate party atmosphere – Get into the groove and dance the night away! \nTHE JUICE are a collective of soul/funk musicians featuring Joe James’s powerful vocals. Original music plus some danceable covers from the band who comprise of members of The Enrichments\, Mighty One\, Samuel Jack\, Twin Falls\, and Littlemen. \nand SUPERNORMAL are a fresh new outfit with Danielle Sharp on vocals who play infectious and uplifting original music\, spanning funk\, rock\, soul and jazz. \nThe event will start with Frome Street Bandits leading a procession from St. John’s Church at 5pm. For kids you’ll find a Sass stilt walker and a Circus Skills area (new this year!). SATCO return with a ballet (or something else – who knows?!) and you might come across some shanty-singing fishermen\, Captain Crusty & the Pickled Herrings.
