Butterworth’s A Shropshire Lad captures the gentle melancholy of England’s countryside, Schumann’s Piano Concerto sparkles with passion and lyric charm, and Vaughan Williams’ London Symphony brings the sights and sounds of the capital vividly to life. A perfect blend of intimacy and symphonic splendour.

The evening features a remarkable rising talent: 16-year-old pianist Ezra Herring, a scholarship student at Wells Cathedral School’s renowned specialist music school.
