An intimate reimagining of Genet’s The Maids, set in contemporary Frome and performed at the Archangel.

In a curated bedroom of shabby-chic luxury and new-age calm, two local cleaners rehearse roles, rituals and revenge. Their employer — a glossy newcomer from the Babington House set — is always present, even when absent.

Voicenotes replace letters. Livestreams replace confessions. Screens watch back. Filtered through the language of social media and self-performance, Genet’s dark fantasy of class, power and desire unfolds at close quarters.
