Following a stellar Frome Festival debut in 2025, violinist Madeleine Athané-Best and pianist Mathilde Nguyen are returning to Christ Church for a sensational programme of chamber music, with funds supporting Frome Festival’s 25th Anniversary fundraiser.
Romance & Impressionism – French music at the turn of the Century
Formed at the Paris Conservatoire, Madeleine and Mathilde’s musical partnership has grown through years of shared performances. Following the success of their concert at Christ Church last year, they return with a unique and beautifully poetic programme of their favorite French “fin-de-siècle” works – Debussy, Boulanger, Bonis, Chaminade and Ysaÿe – combining lyricism, colour, virtuosity and striking technical challenges.
